The All Women’s Sunset Shred is BACK in Boulder County and better than ever, hosted by Pivot Cycles and Sports Garage Cycling! Together with sponsors DT Swiss, 10 Barrel Brewing, and Wild Rye we are donating 100% of Sunset Shred proceeds to World Ride, the official partner of the 2022 Sunset Shred Series.
We will be taking twenty five lucky women on a high vibes backyard ride led by Pivot athletes and ambassadors, followed by an aprés party with presenting partner DT Swiss, snacks, swag, beer from contributing partner 10 Barrel Brewing, and – new this year – a viewing of the acclaimed World Ride Movie Night. Prepare to be inspired, connect with like-minded lady riders, and build your MTB community.
The guided ride experience will begin and end at A-Lodge on Main Street in Lyons, with two unique ride options at Hall Ranch. Pivot demos will be set up beginning at 5:00 pm, and riders will roll out together at 5:30 pm for a short 5-minute pedal to the trailhead. A short warm-up pedal will take us to the Antelope trail, where we’ll head up for a lap on the picturesque Nelson Loop, finishing with two different descending options based on rider skill level. Both rides will have re-group points, and everyone will rendezvous back at The A-Lodge for an aprés party and World Ride Movie Night.
“What skill level is necessary?”
Option A: “Blue” – The Hall Ranch Intermediate Loop: A blue trail with mostly intermediate riding. The trail features a combination of flow trail, a few switchbacks, and a variety of rock features. The trail surface is both smooth dirt and kitty litter in places. Riders will want to be comfortable with single track width, intermediate climbing, and some small rock step ups. The route is a lollipop: we will climb and descend the Antelope Trail, with a lap on the Nelson Loop, which has beautiful views of Long’s Peak, and some fun and flowy descending.
Option B – “Blue/Black”: The Hall Ranch Classic: This route shares the majority of the same trails as the Hall Ranch IntermediateLoop. We will climb the Antelope Trail, do a lap on the beautiful Nelson Loop, and return halfway to the group’s starting point, turning south on the Bitterbrush Trail. Here the trail climbs a bit more to the top of a rollicking descent enjoyed by intermediate/advanced riders. The Bitterbrush descent features technical features including the rock garden, and riders should be comfortable with drops, choosing technical lines, and descending in rocky terrain.
